FWIW:

I think I recently heard on Youtube Macca pronounce a word
like "thing" almost like "think" (perhaps "thingh"  would
come quite close...)
I'm "afraid" that might be quite a common British (Liverpudlian?) 
pronunciation of words ending with 'ng'.
