Interesting comments. My impression was that the tics generally
just
disappeared in time, especially if the meditator was not
practicing
group meditation.

Most did fade with the practice, a few cases have been reported
of
people whose symptoms did not stop.

I've talked to three people who had pain for decades from doing
TMSP,
and only on learning how to divert around the blockage were they
able
to get relief. Interestingly all felt guilty at the idea of
stopping
their meditation and just continued despite the pain believing
the
nervous system would eventually purify to the point where the
blockage
(and the pain) would stop.

I wondered at the time if the tics could be
suppressed without later blow back.

That's an impressive stat Vaj...are you sure it wasn't four people?

Meditating in pain for decades is probably somewhat rare. Most people probably just quit.

These are just people I've talked to recently. The word on the street is, such negative side-effects--I'm sorry "unstressing"--is epidemic among long-term TMSPers. But that's just from yogis in Swami Brahmananda's tradition, what would they know?

IMO any meditative technique that causes neurological damage to people should be banned.
