Already been done. European explorers, primarily Spanish and Portuguese led by priests, sent out resistant microbes from their home lands and bade them go forth and mulitply in the New World as "precursors of their higher form of life." The common cold, which had not existed there before and to which people had no immunities, killed an estimated half of the indigenous population of North and South America. And you want to do it to other planets. Religious fanatics never learn.
