Because it's the most successful TV show in the country, I somehow suspect that it isn't budget cuts in this case. What I suspect is that they ran out of book before they ran out of episodes. :-) That is, they built up this huge plot to a "big finish," but then realized that they couldn't prolong the suspense any longer and had to Do Something Already about Marianne. But they still had to fill two more episodes, so they filled 11 with speechifying and 12 with wrap-up and setups for the next season. > It's interesting to see the difference between the books > and the show. I look forward to reading them and seeing that for myself. I expect to see many changes, most of them centering around Alan Ball's internal vision of them as a metaphor for gay prejudice and other forms of prejudice. > Have you watched "Hung"? I find that a fun show. I've (gulp) been watching it, yes. :-) And I enjoy it, but not at the level at which I watch a series with really good writing and production. I find myself really liking the actor with the Big Swinging One...he's so clueless in a genuinely "nice guy" way that it's endearing. He makes the series. I've stopped watching "Nurse Betty" because it seemed to be the same plot over and over again and it ceased to hold my interest. Another of my "guilty pleasures" is the SyFy series "Warehouse 13," largely because of the chemistry between the characters and the fact that they're playing it for humor as often as they play it for suspense. It's like "X-Files" but without taking itself all seriously. I just love the new Claudia character.
