Interesting idea - that in order for the drama to continue and to keep certain types of people hooked, you cannot accomplish your goals. The TMO needs these hopeless projects. Anyway, all this stuff made it easy for me to disengage and sit back and watch the show - we could rationalize it as practice for cc!! I think the next 10 years will be fascinating.
