Not just a little. :-) Back during the millennial new year of 1999-2000, several news outlets did articles on "apocalyptic predictions." They demonstrated very conclusively that *there has never been a time in human history* when such predictions were not being made, and in which the end of the world was imminent, about to happen Any Day Now. Exactly. One thing I've found is that (from my POV), the lesser the amount of real integration and inner self-esteem a person has, the more they're interested in or focused on such crap. Total hogwash. As far as I can tell, no one who has ever lived on this planet has been fundamentally more important than any other. People may claim they were, or are, but they were all just bozos on this bus, as are we. And that's COOL. Being ordinary is just the BEST. If one accepts that, one can get past the ego-need to assert one's personality and self-importance and try to make others think they're more important. Buck's *whole schtick* is about that kind of self-importance. It makes me wonder sometimes what is *lacking* in him that he feels the need to surround himself (and FF itself) with so many self-importance fantasies. It's as if he (and they) are so invested in "being important" that they feel they'd be *nothing* if they weren't, and were just like everyone else. Oh.
