Most importantly, it is spontaneous, innocent, and has nothing to do with
whether you decide for it to be there or not. It just is.

 Literally, it just is.

Yep, and the theory goes that with TM, that sense of stability, of
groundedness, to overcome any obstacle, no matter how potentially stressful,
that peacefulness that brings calm during exceptionally trying circumstances,
can not only become permanent, but then, this same silent wakefulness, begins
to accompany all of living, waking, dreaming and sleeping. That is when the
real fun begins.

Hmmmmm.....you know, I am finding I can tune into the silence or quiet within.
If I stay connected in that place, which for me lies in the heart, I feel much
better throughout the day. Activities like swimming, yoga-like movement,
gardening, reading certain things, walking the dog, prayer...support it.

waking state, spans all activity, composed of being up and active, asleep, or
dreaming. It is a common state of consciousness. The silence, or sense of
buffering, and peacefulness, that comes from deliberate acts for spiritual
growth, like yoga, is either absent, or easily upset. The subjective sense of
self is largely limited to a body-centric identity. That's "waking state", and
it has very little to do with what a person does in their life, whether a
POTUS, priest, or average joe.

Re: "You guys can't even figure out waking state, huh? LOL" Would anyone be
willing to define "waking state" for me as it is discussed on this forum?
