Clearly Buck/Doug is a maniac who should NOT be allowed to go through the files deleting posts that HE alone considers against the guidelines. As far as we know, Doug (not "Buck") hasn't deleted any posts. HE made the comments that started the conversations that he has removed. According to Doug, Rick removed those posts. If he is embarrassed about them now that's just tough. We all have to rake responsibility for what we say. If Doug is going to make clear allusions to the use of violence then we are going to comment on it. Most of us make "allusions to the use of violence" at some point or other in remarking on an instance thereof in the big world out there. That's all Doug did. He can't be allowed deleting other people's posts because he's presented an image of himself that doesn't fit in with his professed love of peace. He didn't. We saw two days ago that he is incapable of discerning whether a post is offensive when he demanded that Turq delete a criticism of David Lynch. Lynch is a public figure and a member of the TMO and as such is a fair subject for discussion. You can't delete a post that calls him gullible for paying a million bucks for a course taught by the great man himself and then criticises Marshy for not even showing up in person. These are fair comments whether you like them or not. I agree. But that post hasn't been deleted. Buck wanted them deleted because he thought that they might put of people in the DLF from coming here to post! I think they should come here and get a different perspective rather than the "we are perfect" one that the TMO likes to award itself but anyway that's up to them, this censorship is NOT a fair use of the guidelines. Doug (and presumably you) promised that he would be fair in his dealing with us but he is clearly behaving in a partisan manner and using the guidelines disingenuously to cover himself. Perhaps he thinks he's doing the right thing but you have to be able to tell the difference between fair comments and abuse. He made a mistake with that post, IMHO. He apparently didn't follow through, though, so it's not impossible he's realized he was wrong. I doubt any of us, taking on the job of moderator for the first time, would do so without making at least one mistake. I'm concerned about this because we could lose a lot of interesting and relevant stuff if he carries on with his jihad against us "apostates". So far the "jihad" exists only in the imagination of the "apostates." (PS isn't it funny seeing Judy accuse someone of bias about Barry!) Kinda like accusing someone of being partial to Rush Limbaugh (a virulently nasty and appallingly dishonest radio talk show host).
