Some people need to work a little harder at different things to make the other
hard work they do pay off. Going to a daily job and exhibiting a crappy
attitude or showing up late or having excessive no shows, bad appearance, poor
communication skills,(need I go on?) can affect the whole outcome. You get out
of life what you put into it. Isn't that what self improvement is all about?

individuals* didn't deserve what they accomplished? WTF is karma?

Not so. It would be so simple if that were the case. Many, many people
literally work their asses off and have no home, very little food to eat and
live in rags. The world does not work like how you think it works. There is
inequality with regard to race, gender and class that takes its toll on
millions of people. I have known a number of well-heeled individuals who like
to recline back in their easy chairs, glance around at their paneled, ornate
living rooms while sipping 25 year old tawny port and smugly assert that if
everyone was just willing to work hard they could enjoy the advantages that
they enjoy. Bullshit.
