Mr. Henry Herzberger needs to read some Indian history.
There's no mention of 'Shiva' in the Rig Veda and no
mention of any bija mantras. The various Hindu sects,
Shaivaism, Vaishnaiva, and Tantrism came long after
the Vedas were composed (circa 1500 B.C.) during the
Gupta Age. There are no 'devatas' in the the Rig Veda.
The Vedas are concerned with the supernal dieties, the
forces of nature such as the Sun, the Moon, and the
Earth. The worship of devatas such as Ramchandra,
Rama, Vasudeva and Krishna came long after the the
composition of the Vedas.
