Looking at the rule in 5.2.3 there is an extra step "Selected URL". It's giving the Editor the option to select which FURL should be used with the selected object ( i.e Case Studies ). I guess the idea is depending on the context different users would want to promote / display a different link on the page. I'm not 100% sure but it went in as part of the original project. In terms of the Handpicked Rules the user has the ability to select objects and then on an extra wizard step pick from a list of templates how they want each individually displayed.
