The best example of the functionality I'm having trouble with is an in/out widget for the company intranet.
A staff member logs in to the intranet, and clicks on a photo of themselves to switch from out to in (or vice versa). He would also see a table containing photos of people who are out.
I've figured out the basics of creating types, and will probably do the same with rules (for displaying only the logged in user's widget, or all out staff) by cannabilizing the core rules, but what's the best way to work in changing the staff status? I would prefer to avoid forcing users to use the CMS for this, and what I've figured out about farcry suggests that I could leverage some built in functionality.
