That is interesting.   Wondering if you could enable MPT_DEBUG_EVENTS,
in the driver Makefile, recompile, and run your test again.  Wondering
if we were getting a spurious device add event for that drive.

I appreciate if you could continue your testing.  Its on my todo list
for testing kdump, but much lower priority.
