I don't think the ball was dropped. It appears the patch has been approved by James Bottomely, see: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/jejb/scsi-rc-fixes-2.6.diff I think you agree, this only fix's the oops. We still need to fix the underlying problem of lost interrupts. There is a similar issue reported by Dell, and with the help our Systems Engineering group, I hope they will replicate the issue for me, and I plan to debug it soon. Their issue is unrelated to kdump, but the driver does go into host reset when it loads. Currently I'm tied up working other issues, but hopefully I will be freed so I can debug this. On another note, the mpt_linux_developer@ newsgroup ends up coming to me, so I removed it from the cc'd list. I'm don't look at the newsgroup that frequently, so its best to email me directly.
