Hello all:

Recetly I installed QEMM v8.0 topon FreeDOS. After that
I tried to compile FreeDOS kernel. It would compile until
my screen will show following message then DOS frozen:

...
....
Available memory 477130 bytes

  C:\tools\nasm -DTC2 -i../hdr/ -f obj console.asm

And sometimes, it crashes DOS when during compiling.
I am using Nasm 0.98p. but I have tried other Nasm such as 0.98r
and other versions. But no any of them will work.

Does this problem apply Nasm will not work well under QEMM.
Or any one have compiled FreeDOS kernel under QEMM?
And how to setup the QEMM for compiling kernel?

The reason for me to use QEMM is I wish I can compile FreeDOS
kernel under DESQview/X. However, DESQview/X required QEMM.

If I have other alternative for QEMM, I also would like to try.

Thanks!

Lin
