Depending on the DHCP server, they'll still see both OSs as being sufficiently different, to not allocate them the same IP address. There's other parameters included with the DHCP client request (such as a uid one). On my server, I had to hard configure one MAC to always be given the same IP, otherwise each different OS booted got different IP addresses, yet the reverse lookup didn't change (that stuffed quite a few things up).
