Short answer is "yes".

Longer answer:
I guess I was 10 when I read Weirdstone and 12 when the second book arrived. I
was hooked and eager for more. But it didn't happen. Years later I read that he
had intended a 3rd book but started to dislike the characters and refused to
write it.

Could you imagine if REF had decided he hated Pug?

When I heard that the 3rd book was being written after all (just 40 years late)
I was really pleased. Some of the other stuff he has done since has been dark
and challenging to read so I think this new book (with grown up characters)
might also be more of a challenge. But it's the writer's perogative to
interpret his characters and he is a very acomplished writer.
