CW only accepts cats from Shelters, not individuals,
unless the owner of the cat dies. It’s a great place, though.
I took a cat from our Shelter there last summer and got a
tour. The ladies running the place are extremely dedicated.
They have had FeLeuk cats there live a good life, to their
teens.

Subject: [Felvtalk] Need home for FELV cat in Ft. Worth

To felvtalk@felineleukemia.org
Gloria Lane and Lance,
There are two shelters that I know of in Iowa that rescue Feline Leukemia cats
Carmen Conklin at CW Shelter in Northeast Iowa <cwshel...@wildblue.net>; and
Witty Kitty in Solon, Iowa Jennifer Doll <jkd...@gmail.com>. Not sure how they
would get there but maybe they know of a transport if they have an available
spot. There is a transport that helps with dogs called Heinz 57 Rescue and
Transport in Desoto, Ia. --- maybe they would help with the cat.

Also, this lady with the feline leukemia cat needs to know that one test does
not a diagnosis make depending upon the test used. It could be a false
positive, if the cat is young, it could fight it off with good medical care (I
got lucky and had 4 that fought it off), the cat can live with feline leukemia
(probably just a shortened life), etc. Is there a reason she does not want to
keep the cat?

Please keep me posted. Thanks, Karen
