My cats who have had anemia from lymphoma have wanted to lick cement. Simon currently wants to lick stone and ash. It's a condition called Pica, which means the craving of non-food items. While anemia can cause it, it can be caused by other things too, and the cause is often unknown. Human women sometimes get it when pregnant.
