Makes sense, I would just be worried to give him ANYTHING because he is doing so well, but the vet knows best. Good luck Michelle I have strong positive vibes coming your way ;-))

Why does he need what? The Adriamycin?  It's the strongest of the chemo drugs, and the one that he was supposed to get when he got too sick to continue 2 weeks ago.  I am not sure but think that his current improvement is due to him getting CCNU last week, another chemo drug.  If that is true, then if he does not continue chemo the lymphoma will just come back (it may anyway).  With lymphoma, chemo protocols alternate different drugs to try to keep the lymphoma from becoming resistant to any one of them, so even though the CCNU seemed to help him the oncologist would not want to give that again right away because it would encourage the cancer to become resistant to it.  Simon's lymphoma is already resistant to the 3 weaker drugs he initially got, it seems, because when his blood work was too bad to get Adriamycin he was given a weaker drug that had initially helped him but he just got much worse like it did not help him at all.

Hope that makes sense,
Michelle
