Yes (true) or No (false)? If the input is 8-bit ybr420-smpte170m, then the processing pipeline is also 8-bit ybr420-smpte170m.
If the input is 8-bit rgb420, then the processing pipeline is also 8-bit rgb420. It would make sense to automatically decode to 16-bit rgb444.
