I suggest you reread the basic ffmpeg manual at https:// www.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg.html; it's always

Take a pill, Z.
what is that supposed to mean?
You folks will never understand a user's perspective.
Excuse me, I _am_ a user*. I do not work on the ffmpeg code although after a few decades of writing
code, sometimes in 'c', I can generally read it.
*everyone using a computer is a 'user' of something, some have a better understanding of how the
systems work.
I'm supposed to know what "sost#0:2" means because... of what? Because I'm
supposed to be psychic?
No, you're supposed to use the tools available to find information that may lead you to an
understanding. Demanding answers with no apparent effort to find them yourself comes across as lazy
and inconsiderate. Simply searching 'ffmpeg "sost"' turns up multiple hits that indicate that
subtitles are involved;
Why would I search for 'ffmpeg "sost"', Z? I was faced with an statement that doesn't even say it is
an error, embedded in a sea of jargon, with zero guidance regarding the jargon or its formatting or
'special' words. The jargon seemed to blame my '-c:v libx264' directive when I could plainly see
that my '-c:v libx264' directive was correct. My conclusion was that FFmpeg is simply buggy or
quirky, and I think that my conclusion, though wrong, was justified.
