Thanks for taking the time to contact them all (and in some cases take
some rather short remarks from posters)

While thats probably a fair assessment, there was a number of
interesting points raised (ranging from HEIR 7 through to whether some
of the required programs really are required). Did you note down any of
the points raised? Should i open a trivial bug with the links above and
someone can look at it 'in the future'?
