 4th Annual Winter Retreat in Gig Harbor. Escape the winter blues and
join Kaye Collins and Carol Rhoades for adventures in spinning for lace
knitting, preparation and spinning Scandinavian fleeces, creating
designer yarns and spinning for the socks of your dreams. Both Kaye and
Carol are featured in the current fall issue of Spin-Off Magazine.
Knitters won't want to miss classes with Lucy Neatby, Margaret Radcliffe
and Beth Brown-Reinsel. Fiber artists, Anita Luvera Mayer and Nancy
Harvey, round out the incomparable teaching for this fantastic
mid-winter retreat. The quaint harbor town of Gig Harbor is an easy

 San Diego UFO (UnFinished Object) Retreat; Camp Stevens, Julian, CA.
Enjoy a modern lodge with four 6 bunk rooms; 2 bathrooms with showers;
and a large open meeting room with huge picture window, mountain
view, fireplace, balcony, heat and mini-kitchen. Meals are provided for
us by the Camp Stevens staff. There is no formal class structure.  There
will be plenty of opportunity to share experiences and sit and finish

 Spend a week on Salt Spring Island, B.C.  Designing Colourful Cotton
Fabrics - This five-day class gives students a solid understanding of

using mixed warps, designing right on the loom and the finishing of

 Come to beautiful Salt Spring Island, B.C. for Warp Design:

freeing experience for those who may be slightly intimidated by their

 The Academy of Spinsters. We are located in the small town of
Encampment, WY. The town is located in a high (7400') mountain valley.
The school offers classes in Spinning, Dyeing, and Fleeceweaving. Carol
Lee is the owner and instructor, teaching fiber crafts for the past 28
years. Lodging and all material provided in a daily fee of $40. per

tartans, inkle, tablet, Navajo and triangle weaving.  Guest instructors
include Sarah Natani for Advanced Navajo Weaving and Leslie Carroll for
Kumihimo. Two-day workshops are $100, 3-days $140, 4-days $170; 5-1/2
days $225.  Guest lecture workshops are extra.  Materials fees vary
according to class.  Class hours are 10 - 5 p.m. the first day, 9 - 4
p.m. the last day, and 9 - 5p.m. all other days during longer workshops.
 Homemade soups and salads are included for lunches.  Bed and breakfast
are available on site for students.  An airport shuttle serves from St.
Louis and Kansas City airports to the Studio front door.  Looms and
spinning wheels are available for rent during workshops.  All materials,
