Hi all,

Here is some info about what is currently happening at Yolo Wools.
This was written by a combination of Jane Deamer and another person
who is entering into the business, so if the third party references
seem a bit odd that is why. At any rate here is the Yolo Report. I
should add that we were very please with yolo's work some years back
when we sent lots of Sammen Farm wool there for making into beautiful
roving.

More news about Yolo. The way I understand it is that for the past
nine years Yolo has consistently carded and spun high quality products
for customers. However, during the last two years turnaround time had
lengthened and communications from the mill had decreased. The probable
reasons vary. Requests for refined wool products have steadily
increased, placing greater demands on the small staff and on machinery
long overdue for expensive repairs and maintenance. Also a key player
belonging to the business, (the owner), was working out of town in the
medical field to help keep the mill alive and complicated by a lack of
home and office because it was under repair for 5 months. During this
time, an untimely brownout caused extensive electrical damage to a
second card.
Fortunately, this seemingly impossible situation was recognized for
it's potential as an excellent investment opportunity by a local
businessman. He has committed his experience and financial support to
reorganizing management and the restructuring of the physical plant.
Everyone now is looking forward to moving the scouring plant to the mill
before spring shearing. The goal is to finish all orders in 45 to30
days. Customers with wool at the mill may be assured that their wool is
in line for processing. Everyone is working hard and and having fun
again. Yea!!
