There's a book recently discussed on the Knitlist called "Heirloom Knitting" - a tome (~300 pages?) devoted to Shetland lace knitting. It isn't available in the US until July or the end of summer, but it is already out in the UK and appears to be the end-all of Shetland lace knitting.
