Zionism is extreme because it is a rational response to almost two
thousand years of Christian and Muslim pogroms, the Inquisition,
expulsions, the Holocaust and the truth is it never intentionally
displaced anyone. If the Arabs, who supported the Nazis, and rejected
their own state when 21 other Arab states were established when the
Ottoman Empire was defeated - and a Jewish state (Jewish because the Jews
were being oppressed and for 2,000 years, everyday, never forgot their
little piece of land where they were disengaged and safe from the kind of
hate which always oppressed them and killed many of them) was legal,
supported by most of the left, and was the rational consequence of
history. So, yes, it is extreme -- because it was justice. In spite of
justice (an affirmative action movement for Jews) Israel has attempted to
find rapproachment with the Arabs all these years and what do they (Arabs)
do? They still try to kill them. Your sympathies were misplaced. Your
accusations are also misplaced. Supporting Israel is the most progressive
thing you could do and it is the most progressive thing I do.
