I haven't had any dust problems with my scanner, and it doesn't have ICE...but I do make sure my film doesn't have any dust on it before putting it in the scanner. The Nikon, because of its LED illumination tends to exaggerate the dust...so it does need ICE, but you may not need it with the SS120.
