I've read that the ICE feature is added to the scanner by implementing some
hardware components (a chip and an infrared sensor).
Theoretically if the scanner manufacturers buy these components from the
same source (Applied Science Fiction) ICE should perform with the same
results on all scanners, but obviously this is not happening practically.
There are also many versions of this system.
That's why I come back to my initial question: how does the ICE system in
the Scanwit 2740S perform? It is worth it?
My 2420S gives me great results but I started to be fed up by the effort I
put in manually cleaning the images in PS.
Although I always blow the film with a Dust Away can, there is an incredible
amount of particles that remain on film and cannot be seen with the naked
eye.
