We are stuck with this for now. The easiest workaround may be to make a dot
articulation that automatically places itself outside the staff next to the
stem.

Use 'implode music' to combine the layers then convert to tab. The tab
numbers will be the same but the rhythms will be combined.

We are also stuck with this one for now. I hope users will develop and share
libraries of expressions or articulations for all of the different 'average'
lutes.

Actually, I sometimes use ties in tab. You can turn them on in the staff
atributes. Otherwise you do have to tweak things maually. I sometimes find
it quicker to make a copy of the standard staff before converting to tab. I
then adjust this staff so that it will convert like I want it, then delete
it.

Yes, these are issues I raised during testing, but the more people they hear
from the better chance of improvements.
