I have an even stranger layout I suppose, mainly because I have dynamics in
the articulations, as well. F is f(orte), to each side of F I have mf and
ff. P is p(iano), O is pp, but for mp I had to use I. Underneath each of
these are reduced size dynamics (for editorial additions). I kept 1 for the
staccato (from earlier times when only the numerics could be metatools) and
2 is the Mozart "dagger" or caret. 3 and 4 are variants of the staccato dot
(one for stemside no beam, and one for stemside with beam). 4 I also use
(depending on what I am editing) for accent. If I have to do fingerings I
use the bottom row on the keyboard. I change my metatools quite a lot
depending on the context, simply because I am running out of keys.
