Ctrl+F could flip the tuplet bracket from stem side to note side or vice versa, in a similar fashion to it works with slurs. Sure, there might still be loads of instances when you'd have to do some tweaking (as with slurs) but this could eliminate some of that and prove very handy, IMO.
