Hi Steven et al-- Steven wrote: I do pretty much the same thing: if the "continued" syllable of the hyphenated word occurs in the first measure of the lower system, then I use a text expression; if the syllable doesn't appear until later (long melismatic passages, for example) then I'll use the fixed-space on the first note of the lower system (to get multiple hyphens automatically). ----- I can see how this might save a lot of time. What do you do when the continued syllable falls a couple of measures or more from the start of the system, as in a long melisma?
And, what happens if you change the measure per system layout- are you using measure-attached, notye-attached, or just a regular text block as the expression? Do you have to locate them all and move them? Is all this easier than waiting til the piece has been formatted completely and is ready for print and then going through to use ALT-key combinations to place real hard spaces, etc.? Wanting an easier way here!...... Cecil Rigby [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
