It does make a huge difference if you compare both. First the inkjet is most
likely to be a non-postscript printer. Second, the technology involved in
inkjet printer doesn't and probably never will be as good as a good laser
printer. The ink involved in both (liquid for inkjet, powder for laser) is
probably the reason why. It makes me laugh when I see 2400 x 2400 inkjet
printer. The paper WILL absorb the ink and you will never have the level of
details of, let say a HP Laserjet 5000. There has been big improvements in
inkjet technologies in the last years, but still can't provide professional
level printing.
