For 2-up printing and for non-standard paper sizes or
non-standard printing operations (such as running the paper twice 
through the printer, printing one time in Finale and one time in another 
application), this can be required.
However, Finale should be intelligent enough to warn you in these 
situations.

Because it makes sense for some types of printing jobs.
The answer to the question why Finale doesn't warn you when printing in 
these situations, is probably because too few people have sent requests 
about it to Coda.
