Dear List, Am trying to learn more about Post Script printing (Printers). I am using a HP4P printer...........win98 2nd edition. Was told that I have to use a Post Script Printer to save an ESP file......or at install the driver for one which I did.
It looks like I can save the files now but, I can't really print them to see the quality. HP told me that I can install a SIMM chip in my HP4P to make it work. They don't stock the chip anymore since the printer is pretty old. My printer works fantastic (never had to repair it etc.) and I'd sure like to upgrade it instead of buying a new printer at (looks like) $400 which is the HP1200SE. All of this poses a few questions to me: 1. Would I be able to use the PS printer for any and all printing......including anything that is not saved as an EPS file such as a simple Word doc. 2. Would I need to switch to a different driver each time. 3. Could I do that by merely selecting a different printer driver in my default area (Start/Settings/Printers/ etc. and still use my same physical printer (just a different driver)? 4. Can anyone advise me on how to obtain an Adobe postscript "C 2049-67901" SIMM chip or perhaps a used one? Any help would surely be appreciated. Thanks, George Ports _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
