[Finale] 4/4 to 2/2

[Crystal Premo]

I feel like I have lost my mind.

I have two measures of four quarter notes in 4/4 time, followed by two measures of four quarter notes in 2/2 time. If there are no tempo markings to the contrary, don't the quarter notes in the second two measures go twice as fast as the quarter notes in the first two?
