This is a bit complicated to describe so if you get bored or confused
please hit the delete key and don't feel bad about it. However if you
do have any idea that might help I'd be very grateful.
Here goes: Banjo part, notated thus: chord symbols, beamed 1/8th
notes, beam above notes, top note of each chord given, stem
continuing down past note. My method: enter top note plus the fourth
below (playback doesn't matter), force stems up then change the lower
notehead to a blank character. Fine. Did two bars this way using the
Note Shape Tool, then realised that for the rest of the piece it
would be much quicker to use TG Tools Modify.... Special
Modifications....Nth note in chord (from top)....2....Change notehead
to....8 [in Maestro (mac) that is a blank]. This worked perfectly.
BUT, when I made the score into a pdf file, flags showed on all the
1/8th notes. Interestingly (well you might not agree about that) the
ones I had done using the Note Shape Tool were OK, it was the ones
using TG Tools Modify that were the problem.
Obviously I can think of solutions, but I wonder what TG tools is
doing differently to using the Note Shape Tool.
If you got this far thanks. If you have any ideas then thanks a million.
John
(Fin Mac 2003a - TG Tools latest version I believe)
