If I'm understanding the question, the aria is already printed and you're
providing the recit only, right?

I would add the extra bar in the Finale file but arrange so that the
players never see it.  Perhaps the easiest way is to force a page break so
that the empty bar is all alone on the last page, and then just don't print
that page.  (I was going to suggest using the "hide staff" style, but to my
surprise I see that doesn't work.)
