To make that method work, I believe you want to type a non-breaking hyphen followed by a regular hyphen. I'm not sure how to access that character, though. For the Mac it doesn't exist at all. Instead, I use a text expression for this sort of thing. In my template I have one which is hyphens separated by multiple spaces, sized to exactly match the hyphen spacing Finale creates in my lyrics. (Somewhere in the Lyric Options is a place where you can set the distance between hyphens.) If I need a longer or shorter row of hyphens, I duplicate the expression and then either copy-and-paste to add hyphens or delete to subtract them. Setting the H and V placement of the expression lets me place it consistently. I imagine you could accomplish something similar with a custom line, but I persist with the text expression because that's what I'm used to. mdl _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
