Hi all, Getting around Finale pretty well lately. But this is a problem that keeps coming up.
I just finished an orchestration for Pops orchestra with vocal soloist. It is a swing piece with a rhythm piano part which is done in a grand stave below the percussion staves in the score. In the score I put the vocal line as the top stave. The orchestra librarian requested a piano vocal chart. Okay, so create a group and extract. This involves dragging the piano part up 20 staves or so to get it under the vocal line, or the vocal line down. Which of course makes a mess of the score layout. Because you can only group adjacent staves. Any thoughts on an easier way to do this. Mosaic made it easy. You could have several versions of group staves all in the same file, without messing up the layout of other score layouts. So vocal scores, and instrumental scores were a breeze. I do miss that.
