I have a problem I've never had before. I created some score templates with the set up wizard (I usually just create them on the fly with the staff tool) and the scores came up looking great, but in a VERY small percentage view. I went to the percent tool, which told me that both the page and all the staves were at 100%. NOT POSSIBLE! I printed out the scores, which looked fly-speck small, and cannot possibly be any 100%. I can't even see the notes on the screen except in scroll view.

What gives?

I'm using 2002b on Mac (and waiting for native OSX version before upgrading).

Any clues much appreciated,

Dear Linda,

In Finale 2000 and earlier, staff size was fixed, and you adjusted the Page Size to fit your score on the page. However, since then you adjust the staff height instead. If you look at Options/Page Format/Score, you will see a field for Staff Height. That is the critical item. If it's about 82 EVPUs (about 0.28 inches), the staves in Page View will be about 85% their size in Scroll View. Scale Page is set for 100%. If you set Staff Height to 96 EVPUs (0.3333 inches), then you can use page % as you had done in the past. However, changing these figures in the Page Format for Score will not affect the score you have created. It will affect any new scores you create. You can adjust staff size in Layout/Resize System and Resize Page to get things to look right in Page View. I hope this hasn't been too confusing.

Best wishes,

Hal
