Hi gang!
What version of Sibelius are you guys talking about? For example, articulations can be easily grabbed & moved *vertically*. Sibelius does not let you move them horizontally from their centered position, but why would you want to?
This comes up a lot on the Finale list -- the "why would you want to?" shouldn't enter into it! We are often hired by composers/arrangers/publishers to computer-engrave manuscript. If the client wants us to move the articulation horizontally, then we need to be able to. A lot of modern composers have their own notational devices that we must be able to handle -- if we can't do it with our computer tools, they will simply move to someone else who is able to fulfill their notational needs.
And while the "why would you want to" does get raised concerning Finale, it is usually followed by a "well, if we can't talk you out of it, THIS is how to do it in Finale."
With Sibelius, after the "why would you want to?" usually comes the "well, you can't."
