I think I have been following the instructions on how to create ossia measures (create new stave, add ossia measures to this stave, then hide the stave). The problem is: when I hide the stave, the ossia measures also disappear. What am I doing wrong?

The trick is to add a completely new staff to be a source staff. Set up an alternate staff-view, create your ossia there, then delete the source staff from the *default* staff-view. It will remain behind in the alternate view, and the ossia will still appear in the main view.
