That's not true... they can be heard perfectly fine on the Mac. One must only install Windows Media Player for Mac (version 7 if you're on a Classic OS, plus there's an OS X version). Then, since the "mms" protocol is not interpreted by the MacOS, all you have to do is copy the link from the page, then "open URL" from the Player and paste it in.
Worked for me... and now I'm even more eagerly awaiting Fin2k4.
