I am following the OLD to define a shape for an expression Fermata (apparently the only kind that plays back despite the articulation's fermata settings for duration and choosing a percentage).

I can get to the shape creation screen and draw the shape just as they say in the OLD. I click OK, then I click Select and define the level rate just as they say (22:1) and click OK and the Select and get back to the Expression definition dialog and then place the fermata.

No playback effect, with or without human playback enabled. (So much for their claim that fermatas playback automatically with human playback enabled!)

When I get into the expression dialog to double check the settings and get to the shape selection screen, the shape I just created is EMPTY!

I have tried this many times this morning and no matter what I do, that slot stays empty when I get back to it after playback.

If I create and select that shape and then from the Expression dialogue screen click Select next to the shape setting, the slot retains the shape I put in it.

But if I get back to the notation screen and then go to back to the shape selection screen, that newly created shape stays empty.

I have reported this to [EMAIL PROTECTED], but I thought I would ask the list if anybody else has run into this or am I doing something totally stupid (other than trying to get Finale to playback fermatas)?

Thanks!
