HELP!! I am drowning in a sea of re-sent emails!! I am getting several a minute from mid August, and everything from the last couple of days comes at least twice. A header shows that my provider (.Mac) is getting the email from unxmail.shsu.edu today, even though the origination time might be months ago. And I remember all of these emails. I thought I had just been suffering from a lot of deja vu lately, but now I am really in the twilight zone!!

Is this happening to others? I sent a request to the list help request box.

I think that this may have something to do with the fairly recent mailman upgrade, which has also somehow wrecked the creation of the HTML interface of the archives (see the text below of a previous post of mine). When sending messages to ask for help, please include the broken archives in your query!

OK, I've emailed Henry (though I don't think that he, as the administrator of this one list, can do much of anything about it) and the SHSU people who administer the whole mailman server. The broken archive interface is *really* starting to bug me now, as I use the archives extensively rather than keep a ton of messages on my machine.

If you're not sure what I mean, visit the archives at http://lists.shsu.edu/pipermail/finale/ . For some reason, once the archives broke in August, the interface saved only the most recent post to the list. Then, no link to the September archives appeared on the main page (it can be reached by going to August and editing the URL to say September instead, but that just shows the most recent post). One can still reach the August and September posts by downloading the month-by-month gzip'd text (again, editing the URL from the August file to get September's), but since there are no HTML pages they are not being crawled by Google, and therefore they are unsearchable.

I know that you can download the ENTIRE raw archives and search them, but that takes so long just to open up in a text editor it's hardly worth using that method. Anyway, what I request of you is this: if you'd like to see the archives fixed, please send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and request that the HTML archiving utility used on our list either be fixed or replaced. Oddly enough, the other lists on the server are archiving just fine...
