How about Worcester, Massachusetts. (Pronounced--as nearly as I can tell--by natives as w[schwa]s-t[schwa] ... where the {schwa] sound is the sound used when pronouncing various "short" vowels in unaccented (U.S.) English syllables. Has anyone seen Worcester in a song? How was it spelled ...?
