Make a copy of the downbow and upbow articulations with extra vertical space added. Then apply these modified upbow and downbow markings to all notes that already have an articulation.

I'm putting bowings in a composition with lots of articulations
already applied to the notes, and there are literally hundreds of
cases where the articulation and the up- or down-bow articulation end
up on top of each other.

Aside from manually adjusting every single one, is there any way to
have these automatically *not* collide, or a way to fix the
collisions after entry? I see that in MUSIC SPACING in DOCUMENT
OPTIONS, there's a checkbox to include articulations in spacing
calculations, but that seems to apply only to horizontal spacing of
the notes, not between articulations.

Am I stuck with manual editing for this?
