The whole reason for taking such care is to reduce errors.

Where this is really maddening is in the books for Broadway shows. There could easily be 3 key signature changes on a single page, all made in the middle of a line, never a sig at the beginning of the line. And in most cases they'll keep using those pages, copied back in the 40s and 50s, and never invest in improved scores.


What about new shows? Are they finally getting away from hand copy and producing computer-engraved parts?
